Player Characters:

Nyar Silver, 27, Neutral Hexblade (human)
Level-headed and socially crafty, Nyar lives by an honor code whenever he can. He, as a Navan, held loyalty to the government his whole life. He trained, lived, and grew in the Navan military, finally being promoted to the status of field officer by the age of 25. When he left Nav to live in the Dregland village of Nallis, though, Nyar was awakened to the fact that the barbarians aren t the disgusting fiends he was brought to believe, that they were in fact every bit as humans as any Navan. For the first year of service in the Dreglands, Nyar oversaw the gathering of the rations tax as necessary, but for the second year of service, he could not bring himself to force this people to suffer any longer. Using his quick tongue and uncanny charisma, he tricked the tax collectors for six months into thinking that Nallis was exempt from the tax for the month. His lies finally caught up to him, and he was stripped of his rank. Another officer, a self-serving low-life name Swope, came to Nallis and oversaw the village with an iron fist and cold heart, forcing them to make up the six months of missed rations as well as keep on schedule. Nyar, though dismissed from the service of Nav, was befriended by the denizens of Nallis and took to living with a family there. Though stripped of his rank, he still has his Navan field plate, military background, and silver tongue to convince anyone he wants otherwise.

INaHe RanGu, 17, Chaotic Good Barbarian (human)
INaHe represents the true spirit of a revolutionary. Rash, impulsive, and extremely intelligent, INaHe has proved himself an adept tactical leader and a brutally efficient fighter. Born in the village of Nav, INaHe was rejected for the status of village elder because he remains yet unable to accept the flow of nature, instead endeavoring to manipulate his surroundings for the better good. He is young and immature not fully able to think through the consequences of hi every move. However, he makes a good leader for his people against the forces of Nav because he is willing accept losses and make hard decisions without remorse. As such, he is both stubborn and charismatic, allowing him to convince others to go his way, even if they don t want to.

Torblad Shatterfist, 16, Lawful Neutral Monk (human)
Torblad hails from a monastery established one hundred miles north of Nav, cut off from even the Dreglands in which it resides. The thesis of their culture was that power comes through purity of mind and body. Young Torblad was eager to live by this creed until one of his respected peers broke it. He stumbled upon his masters  star pupil with a lady, engaging in the throes of passion violating everything the monastery stood for. Torblad spoke to the council and determined that he had to set out to discover his own creed, because the monastery s obviously meant nothing. He was released from the monastery s care and asked to donate 300 gold pieces in return for raising him, then he set off. Not a week after he left did he stumble upon Nyar and INaHe.

Hans Brillo, 50, Lawful Neutral Ranger (half-elf)
The son of a philandering adventurer, Hans never has been able to come to grips with any part of his existence, only the fact that he must uphold what he thinks is right. His elven father, Jude Quinn, seduced his human mother, breaking her maidenhead before her own fiancée. Nine months later, Jude returned to the young woman and reclaimed what was rightfully his. A successful adventuring bard-rogue, Jude expected nothing less from young Hans than total obedience and respect despite making Hans  life a living hell. He ridiculed his son and treated the boy like property, forcing his knowledge onto the child. In the night, he trained Hans to keep one eye open by burning his bed as he slept, trained him to pickpocket and treat humanity as a tool for self-advancement. Hans always rejected this idea; Jude finally got sick of him, passing the child off to a barbarian village where an old adventuring buddy, Ja'otay the barbarian, lived in retirement.
In his new home, Hans was taught to let things be as they must be, taught to live in peace and practice violence only when he had to better to wait in silence than rush in and be a fool. Hans was raised here to live in nature and move in silence. Here he was loved by many for who he was, but the wounds that Jude had opened never fully closed.
When he came of age at age 20, Hans left the village and joined a group called the Navan Rangers, a peace-keeping force designed to reign in the level of illegal activity in the Dreglands perpetrated by Navan scoundrels. For thirty years he watched the group take its course, never accepting promotions or revealing his elven heritage as he watched his friends become grey and fat, finally disbanding the group. Now he travels the Navan Forest righting wrong wherever he sees it.
Hans is conflicted within himself, hating both humanity and his elven heritage, so he wears a draping cloak and chain mask to cover his elven features.
